The very first day of the year greeted us with the drastic news of the veteran actor Kader Khan passing away. He passed away at the age of 81. His son Sarfaraz, stated that he was suffering from a prolonged illness.
Kader Khan was admitted to a hospital in Canada and his last rites are said to be conducted in the same -country. He had been in the hospital for some 16 to 17 weeks and on the afternoon of 31st December, he slipped into the coma.
During his last days, he had developed breathing problems and the doctors had to transfer him from regular ventilator to BiPAP ventilator. Owing to the reports, Kader Khan was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, which is a degenerative disease that causes people to lose balance, suffer from dementia and develop difficulty in walking as time progresses.
The actor-director is known for his unambiguous contributions to the Hindi cinemas back in the 1980s and 90s. He was born in Kabul and made his acting debut in Rajesh Khanna’s “Daag”. He was well known for playing the role of a villain in the first part of his career days. He had featured in over 300 films and he has written dialogues for over 250 movies.
As a screenwriter, Khan had collaborated with Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra in many movies. Various actors from the industry have shown condolences on his death. Khan had played many comic roles, especially in films made with Govinda.
He worked in a number of David Dhawan directed Govinda films such as Dulhe Raja, Coolie No.1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Raja Babu, Saajan Chale Sasural, Aunty No.1, etc. to name a few. Moreover, Kader Khan had worked with all the leading actors of Bollywood back in his days, including Rajesh Khanna, Bachchan, Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jeetendra, and Govinda.
