The Ministry of External Affairs invited High Commission officials of several countries to discuss their plan of isolating Pakistan on an international scale to set an example out of Pakistan.
The Ministry has briefed diplomats from around 25 countries about the terror attack on Phulwama in this meeting. Information on the attack will soon be given to the Gulf and Islamic Cooperation Organization countries as well. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale talked to the Ambassador of China exclusively, stating Pakistan’s hand in the attack and raising the issue of blocking by China for the listing of Masood Azhar in the UNSC.
Countries including the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, South Korea, Germany, Hungary, Italy, European Union, Canada, Britain, Israel, Australia, Japan etc. were present in the meeting with the Foreign Secretary. In the interaction, foreign ambassadors have been informed about Pakistani role in sponsoring terrorism in India and past incidents.
Taking consideration of the fact about Pakistan’s role in the terror attack on Phulwama, a decision to isolate the country on an international level was taken in the Security Council’s meeting on Friday. After the meeting, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself informed about this. A decision to withdraw the status of Most Favoured Nation from Pakistan was also taken in the meeting, that too with immediate effect. Apart from this, several other decisions have been made in the meeting, the information about which remains classified.
